Care Guide

CARING FOR YOUR IRON GRIP EQUIPMENT

Please review these tips to learn how to keep your new Iron Grip equipment looking new and performing at its best.

We are confident our products will provide you with years of safe, reliable, and maintenance-free performance. However, we do recommend that you perform periodic inspections of all the equipment in your facility so that you can note any wear problems before they become safety issues.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING PRODUCT CARE OR WARRANTY MATTERS, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT US AT ANY TIME.

URETHANE PRODUCTS
Iron Grip’s heavy-duty, American-made urethane is impervious to chipping, flaking, tearing, peeling, or delaminating. To clean the urethane, we recommend that you use a soft, clean, damp cloth only. DO NOT use acetone or solvent-based cleaners, or any household cleaners containing ammonia or alcohol (such as 409®, Windex®, etc.) as they will dull the surface of the equipment. Household cleaners should not affect the performance of your urethane products, however they may change the appearance and void warranty.

DUMBBELLS and FIXED BARBELLS
We recommend periodically wiping your dumbbell handles and bars with WD-40®, or other high-quality moisture inhibitor/protectant. You need only apply a thin layer of protectant, and then wipe them thoroughly with a soft dry cloth. Although Iron Grip dumbbells are designed for years of heavy use and are the most durable dumbbells available, they are not designed to be dropped or otherwise abused. Repeated dropping or other abuse may result in bent handles and weakening of the dumbbell. This may pose a safety hazard. We strongly urge you to prevent your members from dropping or otherwise abusing any dumbbells. Broken dumbbells that exhibit bent handles may be excluded from our warranty. Similarly, fixed barbells are not designed to be used in Olympic-style weightlifting exercises. Fixed barbells that have been dropped or otherwise improperly used may be excluded from our warranty.

OLYMPIC BARS
During normal use, Iron Grip bars are designed to retain their original shape after unloading. Iron Grip bars should NOT be left loaded when not in use. We recommend periodically wiping your bars with WD-40®, or other high-quality moisture inhibitor/protectant. You need only apply a thin layer of protectant, and then wipe them thoroughly with a soft dry cloth.
