1999 Impex Inc., a consumer fitness equipment manufacturer, is selected by Iron Grip
to distribute home fitness equipment under their "Marcy" brand name.
1999 Iron Grip unveils its new line of exclusively American-made Hard
Chrome Olympic Bars.
1999 Iron Grip implements its new Custom Engraving program for
their heavy-duty commercial line of free weight equipment.
1999 Iron Grip debuts an entirely new line of aggressively priced, feature-rich
commercial free weight equipment - IGX Strength - which includes plates,
bars and dumbbells.
2000 Iron Grip introduces the Group Strength line
of equipment for group fitness classes.
2001 Iron Grip upgrades their popular Group Strength line
with a newly designed rack and longer chromed bar.
2003 Iron Grip, now the largest provider of commercial free weight equipment worldwide, celebrates its Ten Year
Anniversary in the commercial fitness industry.
2003 Iron Grip develops an innovative tool to guide new facility operators
through the free weight planning and purchasing process: their proprietary facility planner software,
the eWeight Planner.
2004 Iron Grip celebrates the opening of its new manufacturing facility in Santa Ana, California.
2005 Since introducing urethane-encased free weights to the market in 1996, Iron Grip has shipped over 20,000,000 pounds of urethane products, including over 150,000 urethane dumbbells and barbells.
2006 With the recent addition of over $1.5 million in new equipment, Iron Grip completes the third phase of expansion to their state of the art manufacturing facility, now totaling over 43,000 square feet.
2007 Iron Grip introduces its Competition Series Needle Bearing Olympic bar, built exactly to IWF specs. By manufacturing this bar exclusively in their own factory in the US, Iron Grip succeeds in producing a competitively priced bar that rivals the best Olympic lifting bars on the market.
2009 By the end of 2009, Iron Grip has shipped over 35,000,000 pounds of urethane free weight equipment, including well over 300,000 urethane dumbbells and barbells.
2010 Iron Grip redesigns its Urethane Olympic plates and dumbbells with a rugged, textured finish to even further reduce the appearance of wear and tear. The newly improved dumbbell design features a beefy 1-3/8” diameter handle on sizes above 27.5 lbs., with flared ends to position the user’s hands comfortably in the center of the handle.
